Our roofs are equipped with solar panels that enable Aviporc to produce more energy than it consumes throughout the year, directly reducing the carbon footprint of our daily activity. This photovoltaic system supplies offices, warehouses and part of our internal processes, and allows us to monitor energy production and savings in real time through a dedicated application.

This decision helps us become more self-sufficient, cushion the impact of electricity costs and, above all, move towards a business model that is more closely aligned with the environmental demands of the sector and of society.

Waste separation and recycling at source

Another cornerstone of sustainability at Aviporc is the responsible management of materials derived from our activity. At our facilities, selective separation at source is carried out for cardboard, plastics, film, ferrous materials and electrical equipment, which are considered by-products as they are sent to recycling, recovery and valorisation processes through authorised waste managers.

In addition, organic matter is separated specifically for appropriate treatment, preventing it from being mixed with non-recoverable waste.

Thanks to this classification work and the daily involvement of the team, Aviporc separates and recycles up to 95% of the materials we use, minimising the volume of waste that ends up in landfill.

What are the Porc d’Or awards?

The Porc d’Or awards are given in the pig sector in Spain with the aim of highlighting and rewarding excellence in pig production.

These awards are based on a comprehensive evaluation of different aspects of the pig farm, such as production efficiency, animal welfare, sustainability and product quality.

The origin of the Porc d’Or Awards dates back to 1994, when they were created in Catalonia (Spain), with the aim of recognising and promoting best practices in pig production.

Since then, the awards have expanded nationally and gained recognition throughout the industry.

Evaluation system of the Porc d’Or Awards

The evaluation system of the Porc d’Or Awards is based on a series of technical and economic indicators that allow the performance of the participating pig farms to be measured.

These indicators include variables such as number of farrowings per sow per year, piglet survival rate, daily weight gain, feed consumption, among others.

Also, this year, there are some slight modifications in the evaluation system:

• Farms with more than 20 % of weaned piglets less than 21 days old will be excluded as candidates for the awards.
• In relation to the Porc d’Or Longevity Award, it is agreed to eliminate the criterion of eliminating farms with more than 8 farrowings per sow at low age.
• In relation to the Special Awards, it is agreed not to award those farms that do not exceed 80% survival of piglets at weaning, do not present coherent data between adopted and withdrawn piglets or do not record the number of abortions.

Winners, who meet these requirements, are recognised and awarded at a ceremony where their achievements are highlighted and promoted as role models within the pig industry.

The communities of Castile and Leon and Extremadura are the main candidates to receive the highest number of statuettes, with the provinces of Badajoz and Valladolid accumulating the highest number of nominations, each with a total of 18.

THE PIG HOUSE CLEANING ROBOT

The ProCleaner X100 is a powerful, flexible and reliable robot for cleaning most types of pig houses.

This simple machine houses an efficient, high-tech washing robot that can tackle even the most tedious jobs on the large farm.

The robot has ultrasonic sensors on each side which ensures that it stops when it reaches a wall.

What is a turnkey farm? What, who and how to build it, what equipment to choose, who will build it and how they will do it.

Turnkey farms have a number of advantages and are characterised by convenience, because you have all the solutions in the same interlocutor.

TURNKEY FARM PROJECT STEPS AVIPORC

Our department is made up of a team of seven professionals divided between the different functions to be carried out within each project – site managers, PRL, engineers, etc. -.

We adapt the needs of each project and client to the best solution in terms of construction and equipment in a personalised manner.

Firstly, the customer meets with the professional advisory technicians, depending on the customer’s area and type of building.

Once all the data necessary to start building the project has been put on the table, the technical office comes into action.

It’s at this stage that a series of plans are drawn up with the engineers, on which you can preview and imagine the farm.

Finally, the plans for the farm have been confirmed with the department, a site manager is assigned with whom the client will have daily contact.

We have a technical sales team of ten professionals depending on the type of animal in your shed.

Feeding lines, drinking troughs and interior material studied to the millimetre to equip an idyllic shed to meet our main objective: Animal Welfare.
