At Aviporc, sustainability is not a slogan; it is a way of working that is part of the company’s day-to-day operations. In 2022, we took a key step forward with the launch of Ganambiente, our line of environmental solutions for livestock farming. In 2023, we strengthened this commitment by installing solar panels on our facilities, directly reducing CO₂ emissions into the atmosphere.
In addition to the solar panels, Aviporc has recently refurbished the façade and thermal envelope of its buildings, incorporating more efficient insulation materials and improved joinery. This action has allowed us to improve the building’s energy certification, reduce heat and cold losses and, as a result, further decrease the electricity consumption required to climatise our facilities.
Solar energy: generating more than we consume
Our roofs are equipped with solar panels that enable Aviporc to produce more energy than it consumes throughout the year, directly reducing the carbon footprint of our daily activity. This photovoltaic system supplies offices, warehouses and part of our internal processes, and allows us to monitor energy production and savings in real time through a dedicated application.
This decision helps us become more self-sufficient, cushion the impact of electricity costs and, above all, move towards a business model that is more closely aligned with the environmental demands of the sector and of society.
Waste separation and recycling at source
Another cornerstone of sustainability at Aviporc is the responsible management of materials derived from our activity. At our facilities, selective separation at source is carried out for cardboard, plastics, film, ferrous materials and electrical equipment, which are considered by-products as they are sent to recycling, recovery and valorisation processes through authorised waste managers.
In addition, organic matter is separated specifically for appropriate treatment, preventing it from being mixed with non-recoverable waste.
Thanks to this classification work and the daily involvement of the team, Aviporc separates and recycles up to 95% of the materials we use, minimising the volume of waste that ends up in landfill.
Ganambiente: environmental solutions for our customers
Sustainability has become a fundamental pillar of our company. Through Ganambiente, the environmental line promoted by Aviporc, we support our customers in implementing solutions that improve slurry management, reduce pollutant emissions into the atmosphere and soil, optimise water use and contribute to more efficient and environmentally respectful production.
Each farm receives a specific analysis and a proposal tailored to its needs, because there is no single solution that fits all. The goal is clear: to help farmers comply with regulations, reduce their environmental impact and, at the same time, improve animal welfare and productivity.
Ready for electric mobility
With the future in mind, Aviporc has carried out the pre-installation of electric vehicle charging points in the company car park. This infrastructure will facilitate the gradual incorporation of electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles, both for the company itself and for employees and collaborators who wish to opt for more sustainable mobility.
Aviporc is moving towards a business model in which sustainability is already part of its philosophy, present in the energy we consume, in how we manage waste, in the solutions we offer our livestock customers and in the way we move. All of this is possible thanks to the daily commitment of the team and the conviction that reducing our current environmental footprint is essential to ensure a viable future.
