In this blog we will talk about how spinfeeding works in broiler breeder rearing with a spreader.

REPRODUCTORA PESADA CON SU CRÍA

Parent stock are birds reared with the aim of producing chicks for human consumption.

In the rearing house they stay for 17 weeks, exactly until the hens lay eggs.

Spinfeeding in rearing

A spreader is a machine used to distribute feed in poultry rearing areas.

This device helps to ensure that the hens have access to feed and that the feed is distributed evenly throughout the rearing area.

The Reflex is a new spinfeeder developed by VDL Agrotech for rearing of broiler breeder parent and grandparent stock. (males and females).

It allows to work with high precision restricted feeding from the age of two weeks until the end of the rearing period.

The rotary disc, speed adjustable with frequency controller, distributes the feed evenly over an area of 7 – 25 metres in diameter.

It’s available supported with a rollaway support or suspended.

How does it work?

In the following, we will describe in detail how VDL-Jansen spreader feeding works in broiler breeder rearing farms.

It would work as follows:

STEP ONE SPINFEEDING

On the farm we have two silos for the males’ feed and two silos for the females’ feed, all of them connected to each other.

These silos will be connected to the weighbridge by two conveyors. These conveyors will discharge the feed into the weighbridge (drawing 1).

STEP TWO SPINFEEDING

On the other hand, two other feed conveyors will start from the weighbridge, one for the left side of the hall where the large vessels will be located and one for the right side where the small vessels will be located.

We call the large halls NAVE 1 and NAVE 2 and the small halls NAVE 3 and 4.

On these conveyors on the left, we will have a solenoid valve to supply NAVE 2 and a discharge from the motor to supply NAVE 1 (drawing 2).

STEP THREE SPINFEEDING

On the conveyor on the right we will also have a solenoid valve to supply NAVE 4 and a discharge from the motor to supply NAVE 3 (drawing 3).

PLANO 3 NAVE ALIMENTACIÓN

Inside the sheds we will have a conveyor with a series of solenoid valves for unloading feed into the spreaders.

We will start by starting up one of these silo conveyors and unloading feed onto the weighbridge.

ALIMENTACIÓN ESPARCIDORA EN NAVE DE RECRÍA

The weighbridge will start weighing feed and the conveyor of the transporter of SHIP 1 and 2 will be started (for example).

Solenoid valve of SHIP 2 shall be opened and at the same time the conveyor inside SHIP 2 shall be started.

Electrovalve of the first spreader will be opened, filling (by time) the spreader, when the time has elapsed we will open the second and the third one…until completing the filling of the NAVE 2.

Then we will continue with SHIP 1 and in the same way we will fill SHIP 3 and 4 until the filling is complete.

At the finish, It is advisable to install detectors in the spreaders so that when the spreader has distributed all the feed, it stops. The start-up of the spreaders will also be controlled from the corresponding computer.
